We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team, providing person-centered care and support to individuals with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours. As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in helping service users live fulfilling, independent lives by promoting their well‑being, encouraging positive behaviours, and helping them achieve their personal goals.

Key responsibilities as our Support Worker
  • Person-Centered Support: Provide high‑quality, tailored care to individuals, supporting their physical, emotional, and social needs while respecting their dignity, choices, and preferences.
  • Promote Independence: Encourage and assist service users in developing life skills, such as budgeting, cooking, and personal care, to enhance their independence in daily living.
  • Manage Challenging Behaviours: Use de‑escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies to support individuals in coping with challenging behaviours in a safe, compassionate manner.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure the safety and well‑being of service users at all times by following individual risk assessments and care plans, and maintaining a safe living environment.
  • Build Positive Relationships: Foster strong, trusting relationships with service users, their families, and external professionals (e.g., social workers, healthcare staff) to promote collaboration in care planning and delivery.
  • Support Plans: Follow individual care and support plans of each client.
  • Daily Activities: Assist service users with personal care, daily routines, and participation in community activities to encourage a balanced, healthy lifestyle.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate, up‑to‑date records on the service user’s progress, incidents, and any other relevant information in line with company policies and regulatory standards.
Ideal Support Worker candidate
  • Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities and/or challenging behaviours is preferred but not essential—full training provided.
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient nature.
  • Ability to manage and de‑escalate challenging behaviours in a calm, supportive manner.
  • A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding practices and health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
