About the Role

As a support worker, you will support adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and other complex care needs. You will help individuals achieve independence, build life skills and enjoy a safe, fulfilling life in their own home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver personalised, person-centred support in line with individual care plans
  • Assist with daily living activities: cooking, cleaning, shopping and household tasks
  • Provide personal care where required
  • Support individuals to access appointments, community activities and education
  • Promote independence, confidence and life skills development
  • Administer medication safely and maintain accurate records
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and regulatory standards
  • Work collaboratively with families, professionals and the care team

Experience & Skills Needed
  • Previous experience as a Support Worker, Care Assistant, or within Supported Living services
  • Understanding of safeguarding, mental capacity and person-centred care
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to remain calm, patient and professional in challenging situations
  • Basic IT skills (record keeping, emails, digital care systems)
Desirable Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care
  • Training in Medication, First Aid, Moving & Handling, Infection Control, Safeguarding
  • Full UK Driving Licence
