Substantive Consultant in Neurophysiology

Apply for the Substantive Consultant in Neurophysiology role at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust (NCIC) delivers a broad range of community and acute services throughout North Cumbria and beyond. Established on 1 October 2019, the Trust provides over 70 services across 15 main locations and employs more than 6,500 staff.

Applications are invited for experienced Substantive Consultants to join the Speciality Medicine Collaborative at NCIC. The Neurology service is delivered across a number of outpatient sites in North Cumbria as well as an intrahospital service to the two acute hospitals. In addition to managing general neurology referrals, the trust has developed a number of subspecialties and would welcome neurophysiologists seeking full or part‑time hours.

The department also operates A&G to GP and consultant colleagues within normal office hours.

Responsibilities
  • The appointee will be responsible for the provision of the Neurophysiological service to the Trust.
  • Follow consultation and further develop the provision of Clinical Neurophysiological Services.
  • Carry out teaching duties as required and actively participate in the Postgraduate Medical Education Programme and the training programme for Clinical Physiology.
  • Take part in the Trust Clinical Governance programme.
  • Provide professional and clinical supervision to Clinical Neurophysiologists.
  • Be involved in research where appropriate.
  • Actively participate in the management of services of the Directorate.
  • Deliver both out‑patient and in‑patient consultations, including clinical governance and advice to GP and consultant colleagues.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Valid registration on the Specialist Register; applicant must be eligible for appointment at this level.
  • Experience in subspecialties of neurophysiology, with full or part‑time hours sought.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead service development and staff supervision.
  • Experience in teaching, postgraduate medical education and research.
Additional Information

Relocation package may be available to successful candidates. The maximum amount which can be claimed for prospective employees on a substantive contract is £8,000.
