Key Tasks
- Ensure full compliance with company procedures and Statutory
- Assist in delivering projects in line with contractual obligations, specifications, quality and safety requirements.
- Complete deliverables with a sound and credible understanding of structural engineering principles, both for local and global analysis.
- Assist in developing load case definition and basis of design documents.
- Knowledge and experience of developing structural assemblies and taking through the manufacturing stages.
- Working knowledge of relevant 3D CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor/Tekla and able to develop designs with the assistance of a draughtsman.
- Complete and support FEA analysis utilising packages such as Staad Pro, ANSYS etc.
- Perform sizing and selection of structural members, mechanical components, and fasteners.
- Reviewing, checking and approving of mechanical/structural drawings produced by the draughtsman.
- Proactive in capturing lessons learned and opportunities for improvements for future design packages.
- Perform tasks as required by the Senior Engineer / Head of Projects.

Role Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a design engineer.
- Awareness of structural engineering codes (DNV, Lloyds & EC3 etc).
- Experience in the fabrication/Heavy manufacture industry is preferred but not essential.
- Degree qualified (Mechanical, civil or structural design or equivalent).
- Experience with design analysis software (mechanical & structural).
- 5 hrs per week working 0900 – 1700 hrs Monday-Thursday. Early finish at 1500 hrs. every Friday where hours worked prior.
