Job description
Band 7 Specialist Pharmacist – Cancer Services

Full time with weekend and Bank Holiday commitment (part time considered).

About the Role

The Pharmacy Directorate houses modern, purpose-built departments across the County and Royal Stoke hospital sites and collaborates closely with Keele University School of Pharmacy. The team is enthusiastic and forward‑thinking, delivering high‑quality, patient‑focused pharmaceutical care and optimising medicines use through continuous service redesign.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical services to out‑patient clinics, in‑patient ward, local hospice and clinical trials at the Royal Stoke site and, where required, at the County site.
  • Support the technician medicines reconciliation service for all new SACT patients and SACT ACTs, enabling pharmacists to focus on clinical care.
  • Develop and enhance clinical skills in cancer pharmacotherapy under the training programme aligned with the British Oncology Pharmacy Association standards.
  • Encourage and undertake further training to become a non‑medical prescriber; support expanded prescribing clinics within oncology and haematology.
