KYN is a brand‑new care home company focused on offering an elevated approach to care: Individualised journeys built around the needs and interests of our residents in beautiful surroundings with life‑enriching practices.

KYN HURLINGHAM is our second home due to open in the first part of 2024. It’s a 32‑bedroom home offering each resident an elegant and comfortable bedroom, communal areas for dining and reclining. We have a further two care homes in development in London.

About the opportunity

As a Spa Therapist, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Life and Enrichment Wellbeing Lead in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere and consistently delivering an exceptional spa experience/treatment for our residents
  • Delivering a variety of spa services (e.g., manicures, pedicures, massages, and facials) to a high standard
  • Supporting the Life Enrichment and Wellbeing Lead/co‑ordinators in the implementation of a whole‑home approach to the provision of meaningful occupation for all residents, taking a proactive attitude towards the engagement of all residents at all times
  • Supporting residents with a range of diagnoses, including dementia and delivering spa treatments for residents who are cared for in bed
  • Welcoming, assisting and handling residents’ queries and questions in a friendly, prompt and professional manner
  • Providing recommendations and advice to our residents on treatments and products, including additional services such as holistic health
  • Ensuring high standards of cleanliness and best practices are always maintained, and that health and safety compliance and procedures are adhered to
  • Having excellent communication skills and product and service knowledge to effectively provide wellness solutions to meet the needs of our residents
  • Care for equipment and use appropriate amounts of product to assist with cost controls
  • Scheduling hairdresser appointments and liaising with relevant third parties
  • Being flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the spa and Life Enrichment Team
  • Supporting the team in leading life‑enriching activities and delivering hospitality services when needed
  • Working effectively and efficiently without direct supervision
  • Creating a nurturing environment where our residents and their family members feel loved, happy, safe and secure
  • Working as part of a team and communicating with other departments to ensure excellent quality and service
  • Performing prep work and restocking as required
  • Undertaking any administration and reception duties as requested, including liaising with residents and families to book spa treatments
  • Attending training when required
  • Being fully aware of and complying with rules and regulations
  • Acting as brand ambassador who demonstrates and leads the KYN values
About you
  • Have experience of working within a beauty therapy venue
  • Have NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Beauty Therapy
  • Be a professional, who understands the importance of delivering and maintaining high standards – keeping a safe, clean, and compliant environment
  • Have strong communication skills, a courteous and polite manner, and an eye for detail
  • Be trustworthy, caring, adaptable, friendly, and patient, constantly striving for excellence
