Job summary

A leading audio services company based in Central London seeks an experienced Sound Engineer to join their team. You will be responsible for engineering a variety of audio sessions, running voiceover projects, and interacting with clients. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of audio engineering experience and a strong understanding of ProTools. Key Responsibilities

Day to day you will:

  • Engineer a range of client attended and unattended audio sessions.
  • Confidently run voiceover recording sessions, sound design projects, editing and mixing sound to picture and audio only projects.
  • You must have a strong grounding in short form advertising audio engineering and preferably experience in one of the following areas: ADR recording, long-form audio engineering / Dolby Atmos mixing
  • Interact with clients and host attended sessions.
  • Use the Source Connect, Cleanfeed and similar systems to record voice overs and monitor remotely.
  • Deliver files to the team and to clients.
  • Help with technical maintenance where required.
  • Share tips and tricks with other engineers - no matter how long we’ve been doing this, we’re always learning!
  • We run an engineer mentorship programme in the business, so a willingness to support more junior members of the team will be important.
  • Attend occasional out of hours meetings and events, including the monthly engineers meeting.
  • At least 3 years experience of client-attended Audio Post sessions.
  • An in-depth understanding of short form advertising audio engineering and preferably experience in one of the following areas: ADR Recording, long-form audio engineering / Dolby Atmos mixing.
  • A good experience of engineering and directing voiceover sessions.
  • An exceptional ear for detail and quality. You will always recognise when something sounds good and when it doesn\'t.
  • An extensive, confident knowledge of ProTools.
  • Good working knowledge of Izotope RX, Source Connect, Cleanfeed and other related audio software.
  • A good understanding of working to video in ProTools, including video formats and creating WIP files for clients.
  • Full confidence with voice over recording, including with multiple voices and ‘down the line’ recording, plus tracklaying, sound design, editing audio, internal bouncing and creating stem files (M&Es etc) as requested.
  • Confident in loudness formats and other industry standard tech specs and deliverables.
  • Good organisation and time management skills.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A thorough knowledge of ProTools is a must – you will be tested on this as part of the latter interview stages – including knowledge of EQ, Compression, searching for sounds, and how to treat voice files.
  • Familiarity with other software that has been mentioned throughout this Job spec - the list is not exhaustive.
  • You could be someone who\'s worked as a freelancer or in house at another Post House, but you must have several years of client experience.
  • A degree is not a prerequisite
  • Attention to detail is key, being organised is paramount.
  • Great communication skills, with good email and phone-manner are important.

  • The capability to work from home on occasional projects when required
Working Hours / Requirements

This is a full time role and would be based 5 days a week at our head office on Tottenham Court Road, London. Occasional working from home may be an option depending on your setup.

9-6pm with flexibility for early starts and evening work where required.
