# Social WorkerRef no:: 454532Published:: 08/01/2026Closes:: 24/01/2026Location:: Alder House Cradlehall Business Park Inverness, Inverness, IV2 5HGSalary:: £41,608 - £50,702 per year pro rataContract Type:: PermanentPosition Type:: Full TimeHours:: 37 hours per weekThe application page will open in a new window.An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Inverness East Urban Social Work Team, for two qualified Social Workers.Highland Health and Social Care Services support people from all walks of life, as well as their families or carers; providing help and assistance in many situations arising due to illness, disability, old age or poverty.The Social Work Team sits within a wider Integrated Community Care Team, providing a service to the adult population aged 25+.The Inverness East Urban and East Rural Teams work together closely to cover a duty service across both areas.A Degree in Social Work and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council as a Social Worker is essential for this role. A Diploma in Social Work with SSSC registration as a Social Worker is an acceptable alternative.As part of this role you will work alongside other professionals and agencies to undertake outcome based assessment and care planning for adults, underpinned by relevant legislation, a sound value and theoretical base, and in accordance with NHS policies and procedures.Statutory intervention under relevant Adult Protection legislation, to support people considered at risk of harm, and manage risk, is a large part of the role.Working alongside others to help build resilience; address inequalities; maximise individuals' potential; and contribute to the realisation of citizenship, inclusivity and fairness for individuals and families.Applicants will be expected to demonstrate good communication skills in a range of environments; sound advocacy skills, and the ability to develop positive working relationships with immediate colleagues, other professionals and agencies, in the interests of service users.You should have confidence and ability in the use of IT systems, and be able to evidence experience of accurate and timely record keeping.Good organisational skills and the ability to manage the demands of a proportionate workload are essential attributes for this role.In addition to having an urban patch to work within, the East Rural Team also have a significant rural area to cover so the post holder would require to travel efficiently to meet operational requirements.**We warmly welcome informal discussions about the role.
