What you will do:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments under the Framework for the Assessment of Children in Need and their Families, ensuring each child’s unique needs are met.
  • Manage a complex caseload which includes children in need, child protection concerns, and looked-after children.
  • Develop, implement, and regularly review care plans in close partnership with families, children, and other professionals.
  • Perform direct work with children and families to foster positive outcomes and minimise risk.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports for child protection conferences, court proceedings, and statutory reviews.
  • Attend and represent the Local Authority at various multi-agency meetings, such as case conferences and court hearings.
  • Champion and safeguard the welfare of children, adhering to statutory guidance such as Working Together to Safeguard Children.
  • Maintain meticulous and current case records while ensuring compliance with data protection and confidentiality policies.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, supervision sessions, and both compulsory and optional training and development programmes.
  • Collaborate effectively with a diverse range of professionals across health, education, police, and voluntary sectors.
