A humanitarian organization based in Birmingham seeks a Full-Time position for the supervision of construction projects. The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and at least one year of relevant experience. Responsibilities include ensuring construction meets technical specifications, conducting inspections, and assisting in beneficiary agreements. Applicants should possess good communication skills and an understanding of Islamic principles.
• Make sure the construction works of Shelters are following the technical specification, Shelter guideline, drawing conditions.
• Monitor, including checking the construction materials and ensure that the quality of materials meets the project requirements.
• Conduct daily field inspections and monitoring work in progress and assures the work meets the requirements of the plans and specifications and good work practice standards.
• Be able to stay in and travel at the project site and where it’s necessary in connection to project activities.
• Assist the shelter engineer in preparing beneficiary agreement with beneficiaries for the construction of shelters.
• Follow the standard procedure for construction of shelters.
• Supervise and monitor the construction of shelters and provide necessary feedback to beneficiaries for the quality of construction.
• Assist the Shelter Engineer in ensuring that RHs receive the cash for constructing their own shelter based on the progress percentage.
• Ensure safety measures are in place at the construction sites.
• Assist the Shelter Engineer in ensuring that activities are planned successfully according to relevant quality standards and work in close collaboration with the Emergency Shelter and NFI Cluster.
• Performing any other duties as job required or assigned by the shelter engineer and Sr. project officer.
