As a Senior Social Worker, you’ll champion long-term stability and positive outcomes, ensuring every child’s voice is heard and reflected in their care journey. You will take on more complex cases, support team members, and play a key role in maintaining high standards across the service.
Manage a caseload of children and young people with complex needs, including those requiring permanency planning.
Fulfil all statutory duties, including assessments, care plans, reviews, PEPs, and direct life-story work.
Build strong, trusting relationships with children to ensure their wishes and feelings shape care decisions.
Lead on safeguarding activity, including risk assessments and safety planning.
Drive progress on permanency planning through effective multi-agency partnership working.
Mentor and support less experienced colleagues, modelling best practice.
Work collaboratively with schools, health teams, and external partners to ensure consistent and coordinated support.
Maintain high-quality, timely case records in line with local and national guidance.
Contribute to team development and ongoing professional learning.
Qualified Social Worker (SWE registered)
Experience supporting looked-after children or working within a Children in Care Team
Strong safeguarding knowledge and excellent communication skills
Experience mentoring or supervising colleagues
Experience with court work
Training in trauma-informed or therapeutic practice
