Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust Safeguarding Team. We are looking for a full‑time Band 7 Senior Safeguarding Practitioner for a 6‑month secondment based at Gwendolen House. This role consolidates and develops safeguarding knowledge, working across the Adult and Children Safeguarding agenda under the guidance of the Lead Practitioners for Safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver effective safeguarding supervision to frontline staff, ensuring risk areas within cases are managed and staff are supported.
• Support and contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of safeguarding education and training programmes.
• Work in partnership with partner agencies and professionals, improving outcomes using the Whole Family approach adopted by LPT.
• Promote and develop the LPT Safeguarding Team as a training placement for students.
• Provide professional leadership for safeguarding children and develop practice across the Trust, ensuring compliance with national and local legislation and body procedures.
• Manage care quality performance, safeguarding activity, and support the completion of Individual Management Reviews and safeguarding board reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

• Extensive clinical experience of case‑load management and working with people at risk.
• Demonstrated ability to work within safeguarding procedures and national legislation (Children Act, Working Together to Safeguard Children, Care Act, etc.).
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in a safeguarding environment.
• Knowledge of LPT’s Whole Family approach and partnership working.
