Senior Project Manager – Transformation Programme (Fixed Term)

Location: Huddersfield (or regular travel to)

Pay Rate: £74 per hour

Contract Length: 9 months

Hours: 37.5 per week

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager on a fixed-term basis to lead a critical transformation programme at our Huddersfield site. This senior position will oversee the realignment of production, costs, and resources across three key workstreams:

  • Products and Assets
  • Service and Infrastructure
  • Organisational Structure (including headcount, roles, and skills)

The successful candidate will establish and maintain a robust PMO function to drive this change initiative, working closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive PMO governance across the transformation programme
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, financial forecasts, and resource allocations
  • Lead risk and issue management processes, implementing effective mitigation strategies
  • Support preparation for consultation meetings with trade unions regarding workforce changes
  • Provide regular, clear reporting to senior stakeholders on programme progress
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and delivery against objectives
  • Identify and resolve complex problems that may impede programme success
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements during the transformation
Experience and Skills
  • Proven track record establishing and managing PMO functions for significant transformation programmes
  • Demonstrated experience in workforce restructuring projects, including significant headcount reductions & reset
  • Supporting the preparation for formal consultation processes with trade unions and employee representatives
  • Experience developing and implementing project governance frameworks to ensure delivery against timescales and budgets
  • Strong financial forecasting and budget management capabilities
  • Exceptional communication & stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to navigate challenging situations
  • Deep understanding of project management methodologies and best practices
