Position

Senior Project Manager – QinetiQ, Shoeburyness (37 hours per week, hybrid working).

Overview

As a Senior Project Manager you will contribute to the successful delivery of the High Value Weapons Safety & Suitability for Service Test and Evaluation Portfolio within the Weapons Services & Investments team. You will lead cross‑functional teams, work closely with customers, operational and engineering teams, and ensure safety standards at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain positive engagement with project customers, partners and suppliers.
• Deliver project outputs on agreed baseline (customer satisfaction, time, cost, quality, cash and sales).
• Maintain financial and resource forecasts for sales and delivery.
• Apply governance requirements (lifecycle, project & independent reviews) for foundation sales and delivery work.
• Lead bid activity and opportunity development.
• Report progress on all accountabilities to programme/portfolio manager.

Essential Experience

• Experience leading business, projects, programmes, portfolios or P3 functions and successfully delivering complex projects.
• Leadership skills—ability to influence, align others and inspire teams toward the project vision.
• Communication skills—effective two‑way interaction ensuring clear transmission of meaning.
• Stakeholder management—identifying, planning and implementing actions to engage parties with interest or influence over project outputs.
• Business development—capacity to work in a capture team to generate delivery plans, risk registers and costings for proposals.

Essential Qualifications

• Demonstrable capability to APM or equivalent.
