The legal team is an integral part of Checkout which provides support and advice to every aspect of Checkout’s business, from designing cutting-edge new products to negotiating deals with some of the world’s biggest e-commerce merchants. The team is now seeking a Senior Paralegal to join the product and regulatory team (known as Reg Legal) based in our London HQ, to contribute to the company’s ongoing growth and expansion.As a licensed and authorised financial services firm, Checkout takes compliance with regulation very seriously. Your main responsibility will be to provide assistance to the Reg Legal team and to the business regarding compliance with current and future regulation.Collaborating with all core functions within the company, you will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of projects and play a key role in supporting the company’s growth.HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT:* Drafting, reviewing, and submitting regulatory reports, license applications, and other filings to regulators such as the FCA in the UK, the ACPR in France and the CBUAE in the UAE.* Handling correspondence with regulators* Conducting legal research on regulations applicable to Checkout subsidiaries worldwide* Drafting advice on new products and changes to existing products, from a compliance and regulatory perspective* Contributing to internal Knowledge Management and record-keeping* Contribute to the development and/or maintenance of training programs for Checkout.com colleagues and participate in delivery of internal training* Flag new legal developments and consider their impact on Checkout.comWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:The ideal candidate will be an experienced and dependable legal professional who can work autonomously and take responsibility for a wide range of their own matters.
