Priory Hospital North London is looking to recruit a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the team. This is a full time/37.5-hour role.

Located in London, in a peaceful and secluded part of Southgate, Priory Hospital North London is set within a striking Grade I listed building, overlooking beautiful parklands.

It is one of the UK’s leading centres for the treatment of a range of mental health difficulties, including addictions, depression, anxiety, stress and obsessive‑compulsive disorder (OCD). Since North London first opened its doors in 1986, we have worked tirelessly to establish our excellent reputation as a specialist provider of mental health care.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients’ wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.

  • Provide occupational therapy to inpatients on the acute inpatient wards, on a group and individual basis.
  • Support with the assessment, planning, and implementation of individualised treatment plans, particularly in activities of daily living (ADL) assessments.
  • Contribute to safe and effective discharge planning.
  • Offer guidance and mentorship to Therapy Assistants to ensure the delivery of consistent and effective patient care.
  • Involvement in MDT and ward round discussions and meetings.
What You’ll Bring To The Role

Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Hold a degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution and be currently registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Proven experience in a clinical occupational therapy role, ideally within the NHS or a comparable healthcare environment.
  • A strong understanding of behavioural health, particularly relating to adult patient groups, is essential.
What We Will Give You In Return
  • Free on‑site parking
  • Birthday holiday – your birthday as an extra day of annual leave
  • Enhanced maternity pay
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Flexible benefits including reduced rates and access to new schemes such as gym membership, IT technology (laptops/tablets/smartphones) and a healthcare cash plan (Simply Health Scheme)
  • Access to development opportunities
  • Sponsorship of professional qualifications through our Individual Professional Development (IPD) panel
  • Leadership & management development
  • Long‑service award
