Job summary

A leading multinational company in Derby, UK is seeking an experienced metallurgist for a senior role in its expanding Asset Integrity Management team. The successful candidate will lead metallurgical failure examinations, mentor junior investigators, and develop proposals for new business. A degree in metallurgy or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in industrial failure analysis are required. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ industrial failure analysis experience related to the power industry.
  • Experience in high temperature degradation mechanisms, including creep, and corrosion in biomass/energy from waste boilers is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver metallurgical failure examinations.
  • Schedule and prioritize failures.
  • Mentor and develop less experienced investigators.
  • Produce formal technical reports and project deliverables.
  • Create proposals and develop new business.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of standards and legislation.
