Your Mission

The Senior Development Technologist’s mission is to deliver frequent, state‑of‑the‑art, technical service & expertise. They inspire customers with differentiating finished goods, based on latest global & local trends while using our focus product range. In close collaboration with the business development teams, they maintain existing and grow new business at different types of customers through high‑end technical support and commercial contacts.

What you will do

• Give demonstrations with Puratos products, finished goods and concepts to build close relationships with customers.
• Organise and/or give training sessions.
• Participate in and/or manage seminars & events with Sales, Marketing and R&D.
• Troubleshoot at customers to support them in solving production issues (recipe and process) in a timely manner.

Develop inspirational finished goods and concepts

• Actively look for customer needs and market trends and translate these into inspirational finished products.
• Create finished goods & recipes using the recipe database in close collaboration with business development teams.
• Share recipes with customers and colleagues through multiple communication media.
• Promote our focus products according to the Puratos Product Strategy.
• Maintain existing business and develop new business by identifying opportunities and threats at customers.
• Positively influence customers by great product demonstrations and highlighting our high‑quality differentiating product range.
• Represent the business at external events.
• Act as Technical Point of Contact (TPOC) for specified customer accounts.

Build and share knowledge and experience

• Help colleagues and customers build technical knowledge on Puratos products, technologies and solutions.
• Stay up to date on new technologies, trends and techniques and share with other R&D Technical Advisors.

New product development and innovations

• Work alongside customers to develop and bring innovative creations to market.
• Give technical advice on product characteristics that need to be considered in the product development process.
• Support the business development teams in positioning the product range and determining gaps.
• Develop a deep consumer and customer understanding, leveraging insights from all available sources.
• Contribute to new product launches (product testing, pictures & videos, market tests …).
• Keep the Innovation Center in a perfect state on a day‑to‑day basis (through 5S implementation).
• Arrange raw materials needed for demonstrations or finished products.
• Follow‑up and report customer activities in CRM and reporting tools provided.

Network building

• Develop and maintain a network of machinery manufacturers, professional bakery organisations.
• Develop and contribute to the internal R&D technical community.

What we expect from you

• Secondary education in Bakery/Pastry.
• Hands‑on experience in one of these sectors: Bakery, Patisserie or Chocolate.
• High level of creativity.
• Computer literate (primary usage: Microsoft Office Suite, CRM and SAP tools).
• Good knowledge on ingredients, process & equipment, and finished goods.
• Presentation skills to promote ideas and products.
• Capacity to influence others and to negotiate.
• Consulting and selling skills.
• Ability to find solutions to complex problems.
• Be able to travel in the UK and occasionally abroad (40% on average).
• Be open to flexible working hours.
• Hold a drivers’ licence and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Flexible personality and attitude: open‑minded, honest, social, respectful, team player.
• Independent with a commercial approach (to tailor‑make their programme to the needs of the customers).
