Senior Care Assistant

Permanent contract – 33 hours per week – Night shifts

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will drive a team of Care Assistants to deliver high‑quality, personal care to our residents. You will inspire, develop, and nurture them to be their best every day, and you will train on all aspects of digital care, focusing on clinical excellence and the well‑being of our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Day‑to‑day responsibility for running a unit
  • Support with clinical duties, including assisting the nurse to observe, issue medication, review care plans and maintain accurate record keeping
  • Drive and manage a team of Care Assistants, including all shift handovers
  • Help with training and supervision of new staff members so they feel welcomed and supported
  • Build relationships with residents, their families and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses
  • Assist residents with a range of personal care duties
Qualifications & Skills
  • Completed or working towards an NVQ3 in care (we will support you in achieving your qualification if needed)
  • Motivated, positive and with excellent interpersonal skills; enjoy working in a close‑knit team; pivotal in running a unit and working with the Nurse to aid clinical duties for the home
  • Previous experience of the role, knowledge of its rewards and challenges, and a passion for making a real difference to people’s lives, giving them kindness, personalised support and dignity
