Senior Care Assistant – Broad Oak Manor Care Home

Location: Arnolds Lane, Sutton‑at‑Hone, Dartford, Kent DA4 9HF.

Salary: £12.40 – £14.01 per hour (dependent on experience).

Employment Type: Full‑time, permanent day shifts (44 hours per week).

About the Home

Broad Oak Manor is a beautiful Edwardian manor house set within a peaceful village, providing residential, nursing and short‑stay care, including palliative and convalescence care. The home is CQC registered to provide care for residents over and under 65 years and is conveniently located near the M25 and A2.

Description

As a Senior Care Assistant you will lead a team of Care Assistants, support the nurse with clinical duties, help train new staff, and build relationships with residents, families and external teams such as GPs and district nurses. The role is vital in delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care and ensuring residents enjoy activities, meals, and a supportive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Day‑to‑day responsibility for running a unit
  • Supporting clinical duties, including assisting the nurse with medication, care‑plan reviews and accurate record‑keeping
  • Driving and managing a team of Care Assistants, including shift handovers
  • Helping with training and supervision of new staff members
  • Building relationships with residents, their families and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses
  • Assisting residents with a range of personal care duties
Qualifications & Skills
  • Completed or currently working towards an NVQ3 in care (company will support completion if required)
  • Motivated, positive, with strong interpersonal skills and teamwork orientation
  • Previous experience in a similar role, with a passion for making a real difference to people’s lives and providing dignity and kindness
