Job description
Overview

Senior Care Assistant role focused on caring for residents’ physical, psychological and social needs. Responsibilities include assisting with personal care activities, meals, medication rounds, and leading the shift. Training is provided; applications are welcome from candidates with or without prior senior experience.

Responsibilities
  • Care for residents as you would for your own family, including personal care activities (washing, personal hygiene, dressing) and assisting with meals.
  • Conduct the medication round and lead the shift.
  • Attend staff meetings and maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing needs of the home.
  • Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are understood and followed; adhere to safeguarding and whistleblowing policies; support residents’ choice and control.
  • Provide evidence of any undertaken training and comply with fire procedures and health and safety legislation.
  • Complete all training as determined by the home.
  • Other duties as required to support residents and the home.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Level 3 in Health & Social Care, or care certificate (desirable but not essential as training is provided).
  • Experience in a Care Home environment is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of leading a team.
  • Committed and organized approach; confident communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible to work shifts.
