Overview

Senior Business Intelligence Developer (Belfast) – Financial Services Technology at VantagePoint. This role sits within the Data Services team, driving innovative data initiatives, creating BI solutions, improving reporting capabilities, and enabling a data-driven culture across the organisation. You will work with senior stakeholders, support strategic decision-making, and help upskill colleagues across different business areas.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain BI dashboards, reports, and data products that provide meaningful insights to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with business leaders to deliver data-driven projects that highlight opportunities for growth and efficiency.
• Ensure high-quality, consistent delivery of MI/BI processes while continuously improving service standards.
• Manage the day-to-day performance and reliability of BI infrastructure.
• Educate and empower teams across the business to enhance data literacy and maximise the value of BI tools.
• Build strong partnerships with IT, data developers, and subject matter experts to understand data flows and dependencies.
• Provide actionable intelligence to decision-makers, identifying market gaps and commercial opportunities.
• Serve as a trusted advisor, building and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders.

What Youll Bring

Essential Skills & Experience

• 5+ years experience in BI development within financial services or technology.
• Expertise in data visualisation (QlikSense Cloud preferred; Looker, Power BI, or Tableau also considered).
• Strong SQL skills and experience with scripting, XML/JSON parsing, and data modelling.
• Hands-on experience with ETL processes and data lake technologies (AWS/Athena preferred).
• Proven ability to design and deliver business intelligence solutions for senior stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring and upskilling junior team members.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to craft, test, and optimise queries on demand.
• Track record of producing clear, impactful visualisations and presenting insights confidently.
• Familiarity with IT best practices and ability to work across technical and non-technical teams.

Desirable

• Experience with ODAG in QlikSense.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex data concepts to diverse audiences.
• Capable of managing small to medium-sized projects independently.

Required Qualifications
