About the role

The London Borough of Hounslow’s Transport Co-ordination service is recruiting Attendants to support SEND children during their journey to and from school. This is a part-time role with 132 hours per week split shifts (am and pm), term-time only. There are opportunities for additional hours and for Casual Attendants if you require more flexibility. You will be responsible for transporting children and adults with special needs and disabilities to various destinations, within and outside of the Borough.

Role includes working to ensure a fun and safe journey for young people with special needs and disabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Transport children and adults with special needs and disabilities to destinations within and outside the Borough.
  • Operate within term-time schedules; participate in split AM/PM shifts.
  • Provide a safe and supportive travel environment for SEND learners.
  • Follow established safeguarding, health and safety, and emergency procedures.

  • Caring, friendly personality with empathy and understanding.
  • Understands the needs of SEND children and young people.
  • Physically fit.
  • Able to handle emergency situations in a positive manner.
  • Good level of spoken English and communication skills.
