Who are we looking for?
Burton and South Derbyshire College is seeking to appoint a well‑organised, committed and enthusiastic individual to join our Learner Services Team.
We are looking to recruit two Security Welfare Officers to work across our Burton upon Trent Campus and Stephen Burke Campus in Swadlincote.
This role plays a key part in maintaining a safe, secure, and supportive learning environment for our students, staff, and visitors. The successful candidates will provide a visible and professional presence across campus, helping to ensure the safety of college buildings and grounds while promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing.
Alongside security duties, the role has a strong student welfare focus. Officers will support the safe welfare of learners, responding calmly and appropriately to incidents, offering reassurance, and working closely with curriculum teams, student services, and safeguarding staff where concerns arise.
This is a frontline, student‑facing role that requires excellent communication skills, a calm and approachable manner, and an understanding of the needs of a diverse FE learner population.
