A local authority in the UK is seeking a School Crossing Patrol Officer for St John’s Green Primary School in Colchester. The successful candidate will support safety for pedestrians, particularly during school hours. The ideal individual is punctual, reliable, and enjoys engaging with the public. This part-time role requires working approximately 7.5 hours weekly and includes provided uniform and training. A commitment to ensuring the safety of the community is essential.

Salary: £13.00 per hour
About the role: Support schools once in the morning and once in the afternoon, ensuring the safety of all pedestrians crossing the road to and from the school and surrounding areas. The role requires a punctual and reliable individual who is approachable, enjoys engaging with the public and works a field‑based, operational style. Work hours are approximately 45 minutes between 08:00‑09:00 in the morning and 45 minutes between 14:45‑15:45 in the afternoon, for 39 weeks of the academic year. Uniform, equipment and training will be provided; a holiday pay element is included.
Punctual, reliable, approachable and able to engage with the public. Must be able to work the specified hours during the academic year and be able to perform duties in a field‑based environment. Basic comprehension of safety procedures and willingness to follow training and supervision are essential.
