Scheme Manager – Sanctuary Independent Living Service (SILS)

Location: High Peak, Buxton – Hours: 25 hours per week (Mon–Fri, 5 hrs/day). Salary: £16,916 – £17,439 per annum. Closing Date: 29/01/2026. Requisition: 227115.

Job Purpose

The Scheme Manager supports people in safeguarding independent living for as long as possible, encouraging residents to maintain well‑being and independence. The role delivers high quality, safe and cost‑effective housing management services for two schemes in Buxton and occasional travel to other schemes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote resident involvement and provide information on local community services to enhance well‑being and independence.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory housing requirements, including risk assessments, compliance testing, and scheme inspections.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders, contractors and residents, identifying and addressing service delivery shortfalls.
  • Coordinate local service delivery per Group standards, monitor contractor performance and take proportional action.
  • Deliver high‑quality customer service, resolve complaints, focus on first‑contact resolution, escalating complex issues.
  • Assist housing officers with budgeting, accounts, income recovery and administrative support.
Skills & Experience
  • GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths (numeracy & literacy).
  • Experience with older people in a support role and understanding individual needs.
  • Knowledge of key services available to residents.
  • Problem‑solving skills with effective referral processes.
  • Computerised information handling and documentation skills.
  • Confidentiality and sensitive information handling.
  • Full, valid driving licence – travel is required.
