Role Overview

The Sales Director UK will oversee the company's overall sales strategy and performance, leading a team of 15-20 sales managers and executives. This role requires a strong commercial leader with deep B2B sales experience, proven success in distribution networks, and the ability to achieve both personal and team sales targets. You will set clear sales KPIs, guide the team to exceed them, and drive profitable growth while maintaining strong relationships with customers, partners, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing sales team of 15-20 professionals across the UK.
  • Set clear sales goals, KPIs, and performance standards for all team members.
  • Conduct regular coaching sessions, training, and performance reviews to promote continuous improvement.
  • Foster a results-driven, collaborative, and accountable sales culture.
  • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the UK solar market, with a focus on installers and B2B customers.
  • Develop and expand key installer and partner networks across commercial, industrial, and residential sectors.
  • Deliver on revenue, margin, and growth objectives, increasing market share for inverters, batteries, and storage solutions.
  • Personally manage and convert high-value clients and strategic accounts.
  • Contribute to the design and execution of sales strategies tailored to UK market conditions.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with installers, EPCs, resellers, and key accounts.
  • Provide commercial and technical support to partners, including training and product sessions.
  • Ensure outstanding customer service, retention, and repeat business.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events to strengthen brand presence.
  • Define and monitor key performance metrics, including revenue growth, profit margins, customer acquisition, and retention.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline visibility and forecasting through CRM systems.
  • Ensure all team members adhere to CRM discipline, reporting standards, and data accuracy.
  • Work closely with the finance team on credit control, payment collection, and account management.
  • Coordinate with supply chain and operations teams to ensure product availability and delivery timelines are met.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform strategic decisions and product positioning.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven track record in B2B sales within renewable energy, solar PV, or construction product distribution.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK solar PV market, particularly inverter and battery storage solutions.
  • Demonstrated success in managing large sales teams and achieving ambitious revenue targets.
  • Excellent relationship-building, leadership, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to present technical product information clearly and persuasively in a commercial context.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools and sales pipeline management.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and target-driven, with strong commercial acumen and a customer-first mindset.
  • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving market environment.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across the UK.
  • Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
