Job description

Are you an experienced professional looking for a rewarding role within the field of safeguarding adults? West Berkshire Council is seeking a Business Manager to support the operation of the Safeguarding Adults Board, dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding are met for our community. This is a new role for West Berkshire. You will have a unique opportunity to help develop and shape the Board in collaboration with a new Independent Chair, using your knowledge and expertise in safeguarding adults to guide thinking and shape direction.

The Role

As the Business Manager for the Safeguarding Adults Board, you will play a crucial role in the effective operation and management of the Board. You will work closely with the Service Manager - Safeguarding Adults, the Independent Chair and other key stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of safeguarding initiatives, strategic business planning and the coordination of safeguarding activities on behalf of the Board.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Managing the business functions of the Safeguarding Adults Board
  • Ensuring the timely and accurate production of reports, papers and other documentation
  • Coordinating meetings, including agenda setting and minute taking
  • Developing procedures and structures to oversee the quality of safeguarding practice across the partnership area
  • Collaborating with partner organisations to share information and drive forward safeguarding priorities
  • Supporting the Service Manager in the overall management and delivery of the safeguarding agenda on behalf of the Board
  • Collaborate proactively with other strategic partnerships to ensure Board priorities and objectives are aligned
