A kaupapa Māori well-being service is seeking a Rongoā Practitioner to provide culturally responsive care to whānau during pregnancy and early childhood. The ideal candidate will facilitate, coordinate, and administer rongoā practices in a supportive environment. He Korowai Aroha is a Kaupapa Māori well-being service focused on supporting whānau to provide nurturing environments that support pēpi, tamariki and whānau to thrive and reach their full potential. This service will provide a community-based whare for mama, papa and whānau to come together for support throughout pregnancy and for the first 2000 days (the first five years).
TToH is a whānau focused, kaupapa Māori values-based, health and social services organisation providing services across the Kahungunu rohe. Our health, social, education and community development teams have been working successfully with whānau for 40 years.
We are looking for a Rongoā Practitioner who will facilitate, co‑ordinate and administer rongoā practices for hapu mama and whānau. As part of this integrated team of a Social Worker, Counsellors and a Support Worker, you will provide culturally responsive and respectful care and treatment to whānau involving Karakia, Mirimiri and Whitiwhiti kórero. You will provide care in accordance with the Tikanga a Rongoā Standards (aligned with the Health and Disability Service Standards) and the agreed service specifications for Rongoā Māori Traditional Healing.
This is a full time, permanent position working 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
