Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Sheffield-based UK Finance team to support Aptean’s continued growth in the UK and Europe. This role would suit a part-qualified or recently-qualified accountant with a proactive and driven attitude looking to continue their professional development in a fast-paced environment with a global outlook.

You will be responsible for the revenue recognition for a portfolio of our European product lines, analysing their revenue performance against budget and prior periods and liaising with key contacts within the European operational business to ensure accurate reporting.

About the role:
  • Month-end analysis of recognised revenues by customers, analysing variances to budget and prior periods.
  • Liaise with Sales/Account Managers on revenue performance, ensuring accuracy on customers' accounts.
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are correctly processed and appropriately reflected in the GLs.
  • Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations are performed, and variances are investigated and reported in a timely manner.
  • Adherence to month end procedures and timescales in order to meet Group reporting commitments.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial reporting requirements.
  • Support with Group and local Statutory audits.
  • Provide accurate and sound management reporting to assist with key decision making.
  • Review accounting processes and practices and improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations.
  • Support with group acquisition integration work.
  • Ad hoc projects as required by management.
About you:
  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent.
  • ACA/CIMA/ACCA part-qualified preferred.
  • Financial accounting experience in posting journals and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations is essential.
  • Advanced Excel skills with professional working proficiency.
  • Experience in analysing financial data, identifying and understanding trends.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong prioritisation skills and proven ability to meet deadlines.
