Relief Weekend Care Assistant

Connected Health looks for local people to provide care in the community, enabling clients to remain independent at home. Your smile and care are vital if you are the only person the client sees in a day.

About The Role:

We are looking for Relief Care Assistants for weekends and bank holidays. The role is for those who can work flexibly across Belfast Trust, available for 3-4 shifts per weekend.

Shifts:

  • Morning, lunch and tea shift: 6.45am to 5.30pm
  • Teas and Beds: 3.30pm to 11pm

Enhanced pay rate: £15 per hour on weekends.

Main duties & responsibilities
  • To undertake personal care and daily living tasks as agreed with the service user, their family and the professionals involved with the individual service plan.
  • To develop and maintain professional working relationships with service users and work colleagues from a wide variety of backgrounds.
  • To communicate regularly with the immediate supervisor, in particular regarding changes in the service user's condition or circumstances.
  • To complete documentation, including service user records and timesheets.
  • To comply with all Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • To participate in supervision, staff meetings and training activities as required.
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as required.
Essential criteria
  • You must be a driver with access to a car.
  • Must be able to work 3-4 shifts per weekend and bank holidays as per business requirements.
  • Be prepared to travel within the designated trust area.
Desirable criteria
  • 6 months experience in a formal care setting.
  • NVQ level 2 in care or equivalent.
  • NISCC registered or willing to undertake if successful.
