Job description
Registered Veterinary Nurse – Chichester 30 hours

Arun Veterinary Group – Chichester

You became an RVN so you could change the lives of pets and their owners.

We share that calling. But we also understand that to be at your best for your patients, you need support, work‑life balance and opportunities for growth.

We believe that every veterinary professional should feel part of a community that builds them up, connects them with their passion and helps them thrive.

That’s why we built Arun Veterinary Group. Together, we’re ‘more than a vets’. We’re proudly independent, and the freedom that this brings sets us apart. Clinical freedom; freedom to deliver care with a personal touch; freedom to do what’s right.

Be (truly) valued

We’re constructive, encouraging, and kind to one another – always. Inclusivity and collaboration ensure everyone feels respected and valued. The equality, kindness and closeness that unites our team shapes our work; we treat our clients with respect, kindness, empathy, and professionalism.

Feel the difference

We work from four branch clinics (Worthing, Ashington, Pulborough and Westergate) and two state‑of‑the‑art hospitals (Storrington and Chichester). Our sister businesses, South Downs Emergency Vets and South Downs Veterinary Referrals operate from these two hospitals, and we work collaboratively to deliver exceptional, personalised care to our patients 24/7.

The interior design in our clinics provides a warm, comforting, home-from-home feeling. It’s hard to put into words, but you’ll feel the difference as soon as you walk through the door.

You’ll be involved in first opinion and referral care, including medical and surgical cases, advanced diagnostic imaging and rehabilitation. This gives you the opportunity to grow and master your areas of special interest.

We understand that our team is what makes Arun Veterinary Group great. Whether your interest is in clinical coaching, gaining a certificate, building leadership skills, or something else entirely, we’re committed to nurturing your talents.

About you

You’ll be an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse (RCVS), with a valid driving licence.

Most importantly, you’ll share and demonstrate our values. These are humility, respect, empathy, work ethic, honesty, communication, and teamwork.

Benefits

Your benefits will include funded CPD (Certificate funding available); standard pension benefit; 40% staff discount for own pets; enhanced parental leave (6 months paid at 90%); enhanced sickness benefit (2 weeks at 100%); generous holiday (7 weeks, including bank holidays) and occupational health resources, including mental health support.

Rota

3‑day week, 10‑hour working shifts (7.30am‑6.30pm, 8.00am‑7.00pm, 8.30am‑7.30pm), totalling 30 hours. 1 hour lunch break. Equal rota for daytime in‑patient care and help with emergencies over 1 in 7 weekends and bank holidays. 2 days off in lieu of any weekends worked. No out‑of‑hours, except to act as “last resort” backup to dedicated emergency team on a rota. This is very rarely used.

This role is primarily based at our busy Chichester Hospital, you may be required to help out at other branches if necessary.

To apply for this position, please send a CV to sophie.pitt@arunvetgroup.co.uk.

If you haven’t heard from us within 10 days of submitting your application, please assume that, unfortunately, you have not been successful on this occasion. However, we will keep your details on file and may consider you for future opportunities.
