Person Specification
The Recruiter will play a key role in strengthening the organisation’s workforce by managing end‑to‑end recruitment while also supporting the development of existing employees. In addition, the postholder will provide general HR assistance to ensure smooth daily operations across the HR function. This is a collaborative and people‑focused role that helps ensure a positive employee experience from recruitment through the full employee lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Manage end‑to‑end recruitment processes, including job advertising, candidate screening, interviews, reference checks, and offer preparation.
- Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements, selection criteria, and workforce priorities.
- Maintain consistent and professional communication with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
- Build and maintain talent pipelines for business‑critical or hard‑to‑fill roles.
- Track recruitment data and contribute to reports and improvements in process efficiency.
Onboarding
- Lead the full onboarding process for new starters, ensuring all documentation, system access, equipment and inductions are completed.
- Deliver HR induction sessions and ensure all new employees receive a professional and welcoming introduction to the business.
- Track new starter progress, probation milestones, and ensure early support needs are addressed.
- Coordinate with IT, line managers, and other departments to ensure seamless onboarding.
Training & Development
- Work with the HR Manager and line managers to interpret appraisal outcomes and identify training and development needs.
- Support the planning and coordination of internal and external training arising from the appraisal process.
- Maintain accurate training records and track progress against agreed development plans.
- Assist with preparing training materials or supporting internal learning sessions where required.
- Monitor completion and effectiveness of training linked to performance objectives.
General HR Assistance
- Assist with HR documentation such as contracts, variations, letters, and policy updates.
- Respond to employee HR queries or refer them appropriately within the HR team.
- Support absence management processes, including recording absences, scheduling meetings, and preparing documentation.
- Assist with employee engagement activities, wellbeing initiatives, and internal communications.
- Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives as required.
- Work as part of the HR team to ensure consistency and compliance in all HR practices.
- Liaise effectively with managers across the business to support recruitment, onboarding, training, and HR processes.
- Ensure all activities comply with internal policies, GDPR, and employment legislation.

Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in recruitment (internal or agency).
- Experience in HR support, onboarding, or training administration is desirable.
- Understanding of appraisal systems and performance-related training processes
- Strong administrative, planning, and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
- CIPD Level 3 or willingness to work towards it is an advantage.
