Job summary

A well-established charity hospice in Glasgow is seeking a Reception & Hospitality Assistant on a fixed-term basis for 8 months. This role involves delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors, and coordinating with the reception team. Ideal candidates should possess excellent IT skills and a confident telephone manner, ideally with previous experience in a healthcare setting. This position offers 25 hours of work per week, Monday to Friday.

About the Hospice

We’re The Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice, a well-established charity located at 20 Dumbreck Road, Bellahouston Park, Glasgow G41 5BW. The hospice provides specialist palliative care for people with a life‑limiting, progressive illness, and support for their families and carers.

At our hospice, patients are at the heart of everything we do. As a vital member of our reception team, you will ensure a professional and patient‑focused experience for all patients and their families upon arrival.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all hospice visitors through an efficient reception service.
  • Serve as a hospitality role model within the hospice, working with the support services team to maintain a strong, positive public image.
  • Coordinate with the manager regarding the reception shop.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled, motivated, and organized individual. Ideally, you will have previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting, handling confidential information. Excellent IT skills, a confident telephone manner, and the ability to manage a varied workload are essential.
