Job description

Join the Diocese of Leicester as our Racial Equity Coordinator. Are you passionate about racial justice and equity? Do you want to make a real difference in one of the UK’s most diverse dioceses? The Diocese of Leicester is seeking a committed and organised individual to support the rollout of our Racial Equity Strategy. Working closely with the Director of Racial Equity, you’ll help drive positive change across our churches and the wider diocesan community.

About the Role

Working to the Director of Racial Equity, you will:

  • Provide executive and operational support for the Diocese’s racial equity work.
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver training, events, and projects that promote anti-racist practice.
  • Build strong relationships with local communities, churches, and schools to foster collaboration and inclusion.
  • Support the development and implementation of policies and initiatives to address systemic racial disparities.
  • Manage communications, publicity, and social media to raise awareness of racial equity work.

You’ll be working with a wide range of stakeholders, and will play a key role in shaping a more just and inclusive Diocese.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organise and facilitate racial equity training, events, and conferences.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support, including diary and meeting management.
  • Engage with UKME/GMH parishioners and community members to create collaborative anti-racism responses.
  • Develop and deliver communication strategies, including online and print publicity.
  • Support the implementation and tracking of racial equity policies and projects.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience coordinating programmes, initiatives, or events in a professional, voluntary, or faith-based context.
  • Excellent administration, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse communities and stakeholders.
  • Strong personal commitment to racial justice, equity, and anti-racism.
  • High standard of computer literacy (Microsoft Office/Teams/Zoom) and attention to detail.
