Job summary

A leading motorsport specialist in the UK is seeking an experienced Race Technician to work on historically significant race cars. In this role, you will prepare and maintain vehicles in a cutting-edge workshop and provide trackside support during events. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in the motorsport sector, excellent communication skills, and a meticulous approach to their work. This position offers a competitive salary of up to £44,200, with Monday to Friday shifts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the motorsport sector, preferably historic motorsport.

Responsibilities

  • Perform key maintenance and preparation on historically significant race cars.
  • Travel to race meetings on select weekends within the UK and across Europe.
  • Manage records required to maintain and field a successful race car.
  • Compile project information status reports to clients.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced engineer to bring their knowledge, passion, and drive to the position of Race Technician at ADP Classic Racing.

The successful candidate will work on historically significant race cars, providing workshop-based preparation and rebuilds prior to events, and trackside support at high level international historic motorsport events throughout the year.

Roles and responsibilities

The role holder will…

  • Perform key maintenance and preparation on historically significant race cars, in a cutting-edge workshop environment and during motorsport events.
  • Travel to race meetings on select weekends, in the UK and across Europe if required.
  • Ensure all work areas are kept clean, tidy, and organised at all times within the workshop or on events, maintaining a consistent professional company profile.
  • Be meticulously organised, managing all the records required to maintain and field a successful and competitive race car.
  • Work with senior staff to plan and oversee projects to ensure progress is monitored and maintained.
  • Work with senior staff to compile project information status reports to clients.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.

  • Comfortable delivering a high standard of performance and quality whilst working to strict deadlines in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Be a highly-motivated self-starter that is as comfortable working solo as they are collaborating productively within a team.
  • A flexible approach to working hours.
  • Possess basic fabrication skills (a good understanding of MIG/TIG welding is an advantage but not essential).
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the motorsport sector, Historic motorsport sector preferred.
Salary

Up to £44,200 subject to skills and experience.

Monday to Friday, 8am until 5.30pm
