Overview

R&D Tax Manager role at Bishop Fleming Chartered Accountants. This position offers the opportunity to work with and advise clients on the delivery of our R&D Tax Relief proposition within the Corporate Tax team. The role also provides a clear progression path and development through a range of assignments as part of a full service accounting, tax and advisory firm.

About the Role

We are looking to recruit a talented R&D Tax Manager to join our expanding Corporate Tax team. You will be passionate about delivering excellent client service and enjoy working as part of a team which you will help to run and shape. You will have opportunities to shape responsibilities based on your experience and career motivations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities for R&D tax relief/credits based on clients7 innovative technology activities.
  • Collaborate with tax specialists to gather activity details and qualifying expenditure for robust R&D claim reports for HMRC submissions.
  • Act as an ambassador and key contact for R&D Tax Advisory services, supporting and coaching colleagues to identify R&D opportunities for clients.
  • Promote and model Bishop Flemings services, integrating R&D advice with the firms broader offerings.
  • Lead the training and development of the wider tax team to support R&D Tax service delivery and career growth.
  • Contribute to delivering other tax advisory and compliance services to broaden tax expertise.
  • Help shape responsibilities based on experience and career motivations within a forward-thinking practice with strong development prospects.
About You
  • A proven track record delivering a wide range of R&D Tax Relief claims of varying complexity, with experience in a full service accountancy firm or larger regulated R&D practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and influence at all levels.
  • People management experience with ability to coach and develop teams.
  • Strong project management skills to organise multiple assignments and keep work on track.
  • ACA or CTA qualified.
  • Desire to help shape the success and development of Bishop Flemings R&D Tax Services proposition and build a local market presence.
  • Other accounting, tax compliance or tax advisory experience is beneficial.
