Quality Systems Engineer (QMS)

We are looking for a Quality Systems Engineer to join our Quality team. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving our Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with ISO/IATF standards and embedding quality practices across the business. You will work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure our products meet the highest standards of safety, performance, and reliability.

Key responsibilities as our Quality Systems Engineer
  • Develop, maintain, and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001/IATF 16949 standards.
  • Source, develop and implement a user‑friendly interface for all QMS requirements and data reporting.
  • Manage document control for SOPs, work instructions, and quality forms.
  • Conduct internal audits and support external audits to ensure compliance.
  • Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) programs to address quality issues.
  • Analyse quality data and KPIs to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to validate process changes and new product introductions.
  • Support supplier quality management and ensure adherence to QMS requirements.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on QMS standards, processes, and best practices.
  • Participate in cross‑functional projects to embed quality standards from design to delivery.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
  • Degree or HNC/HND in Engineering, Quality, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, or similar).
  • Experience with document control, Internal and external auditing, CAPA, and process improvement.
  • li>Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and attention‑to‑detail skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to influence and work across teams.
Desirable
  • Experience in automotive, aerospace, or advanced materials manufacturing.
  • Lean or Six Sigma qualifications.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with QMS software or ERP systems.

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
Hours: Monday – Thursday 8am – 5pm, Friday 8am – 2.30pm
