This period of expansion is a very exciting time for the company and we are looking to speak to applicants interested in joining our team as a QUALITY INSPECTOR.

We are leading specialists in the design, manufacture, simulation and validation of bespoke magnetic shielding solutions and magnetically shielded rooms, and have an expanding customer base throughout the UK, Europe, USA and Asia. With a manufacturing facility in Staplehurst, Kent fully equipped with the latest technology, including a new Aberlink CMM, we are able to provide our customers with the highest level of service and quality. All our manufacturing processes, including heat treatment, are integrated in our production plant.

This hands‑on role is ideal for professionals with a background in quality control wishing to progress their quality career in process improvement within a manufacturing environment. Within this role you will be responsible for ensuring all aspects of day‑to‑day inspection duties are met, along with defining and implementation of continual improvement targets.

The job role is responsible for promoting a quality culture throughout the organisation; liaising with colleagues and key stakeholders to maintain agreed standards both to internal and customer requirements.

Key Tasks/Duties of this role:
  • Carry out detailed inspection to customer specifications and drawings of precision sheet metal components and assemblies using a range of measurement equipment, including CMMs, height gauges, micrometers, verniers, and optical measurement systems.
  • Raising internal and external non-conformance investigations
  • Co‑ordinating with the Quality Technicians and Engineers on any quality issues or concerns
  • Inspection of incoming raw materials and manufactured goods and sub‑contract operations
  • In‑process inspection of parts
  • Creation of key dimensional reports, FAI reports, CofA etc.
  • Calibration of measuring equipment and ensuring the calibration system conforms to standards
Essential skills:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality inspection role OR a relevant engineering/quality qualification
  • Experience using manual measuring techniques, including vernier, callipers & micrometers
  • Experience of CMM measurements
  • Experience of fine limit sheet metal inspection
  • Experience of raising non‑conformance reports
  • Experience of FAI & report writing
  • A thorough understanding of reading engineering drawings, projections and tolerances
  • Experience of working within a quality management standard (minimum to ISO 9001)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Strong organisational skills with an attention to detail and a focused approach to work
  • Team player possessing good inter‑personal skills with the ability to communicate to staff at all levels
  • Experience of CAD models
  • Experience of using Process Flow & FMEA Processes
  • Assisting with ISO 900 management system duties
  • Root cause and corrective action experience
