We are now looking for a skilled PSV/HGV/Light Goods Vehicle Electrician to join our engineering team and play a key role in maintaining the electrical safety, performance, and reliability of our fleet.

What you’ll be doing
  • Carry out a variety of electrical diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on a wide range of vehicles, ensuring they are safe, reliable, and ready for service.
  • Diagnosing and repairing complex electrical faults on Public Service Vehicles and Light Goods Vehicles.
  • Completing routine inspections and scheduled servicing on electrical systems and components.
  • Installing, repairing, and replacing wiring looms, alternators, starter motors, batteries, lighting systems, climate control, and infotainment units.
  • Using diagnostic tools and software to identify issues efficiently and accurately.
  • Carrying out repairs and modifications in line with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  • Maintaining accurate work reports and parts usage.
  • Working collaboratively with mechanics and engineers across the depot.
  • Keeping up to date on evolving electrical technologies, including hybrid and electric vehicles.
  • Participating in an on-call/overtime rota to support operational needs.
What we’re looking for
  • Recognised apprenticeship or qualification in Vehicle Electrical/Electronic Systems (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience working as a PSV, HGV or Light Goods Vehicle Electrician.
  • Strong diagnostic ability and confidence interpreting wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Proficient with electrical diagnostic tools and software.
  • Full UK driving licence — Cat D (PCV) preferred, or willingness to obtain via our in-house training.
  • Strong awareness of vehicle electrical safety regulations.
  • Experience working with hybrid and/or electric vehicles.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork ability.
