Job description

Location: London (Hybrid)

Overview

Albany Beck is seeking an experienced PMO professional to join a high-profile technology delivery function within a major financial-market organisation (client name not disclosed). You will operate as an embedded PMO working alongside Project Managers to drive governance discipline, enhance delivery effectiveness, and embed project-management best practice across a diverse portfolio of technology initiatives. This is a hands‑on, embedded support role rather than a portfolio or programme‑level PMO position. You’ll be close to the detail, helping keep projects structured, governed, and moving forward.

This role is well‑suited for an individual who thrives in structured, highly regulated environments and can influence delivery quality, consistency, and adherence to enterprise governance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
Project & Program Governance Support
  • Enforce compliance with defined delivery governance standards and internal control processes.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and quality‑assure governance forum materials, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
  • Manage end‑to‑end meeting operations: scheduling, agenda coordination, pack development, documentation, and high‑quality minutes.
  • Track actions through closure, engaging with internal teams and third‑party stakeholders as required.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of governance artefacts and ensure correct document versioning and storage.
Reporting & Data Management
  • Produce and validate status reports, highlight summaries, and management information for senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain program‑level RAID logs, ensuring rigorous definition, assessment, escalation, and lifecycle management.
  • Support project plan maintenance, ensuring data quality and schedule integrity.
  • Manage PPM tooling data (e.g., Planview/PPM systems) to ensure compliance with enterprise data standards.
Controls, Audit & Assurance
  • Support preparation for internal audits, second‑line reviews, and deep‑dive assessments.
  • Contribute to health checks, control assessments, and remediation tracking.
  • Assist with change‑control governance, including validation, logging, and baseline updates.
  • Contribute to onboarding for PMs and PSO colleagues, delivering guidance on governance and tooling.
  • Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and uplift delivery maturity.
  • Support lessons‑learned activities and closure processes, including benefit and risk handover documentation.
Experience & Skills
  • Minimum 5 years of hands‑on PMO / Project Support experience in structured environments.
  • Proven exposure to large‑scale programmes, ideally involving regulatory interaction.
  • Strong command of MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), MS Project, SharePoint, and enterprise PPM tools.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, written communication, and organisational rigour.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously on end‑to‑end tasks.
  • Confident stakeholder engagement skills across multiple seniority levels.
  • Ability to influence project teams to maintain delivery discipline and governance alignment.
  • PMO certification (P3O Foundation/Practitioner or equivalent).
  • Experience within highly regulated sectors, ideally financial markets or FX.
  • Background supporting technology‑driven initiatives (infrastructure, application delivery, development projects).
