Job description
Overview

Podcast Discovery is UK’s leading full-service podcast marketing agency combining owned, earned and paid media. It was founded by Matt Deegan and Matt Hill, who previously set up the British Podcast Awards, to solve a key problem for shows, networks and brands – finding new listeners. To date, the agency has worked with podcasts, production companies and networks including Crooked Media, The Economist, ITV, Amazon Music, FT, Red Bull, Chalk & Blade, Crowd Network. It also operates the consumer podcast listening brand Podcast Rex – which has a website, social channels and the Great British Podcasts newsletter that’s delivered to 130,000 podcast fans every week.

As a full service agency, the team supports shows with PR, social, video, paid advertising, performance marketing, events and more. We leave the making of podcasts to our clients, but provide consultancy to ensure their shows are ready to be marketed. We’re a remote-first, small, high performance team, who are all experts in their field. Currently we meet up every two weeks in person in London. Whilst this is a remote role, we would also expect the successful candidate to be flexible for in-person client meetings and podcast related events across the country.

The Job

We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our fast growing team and work on a wide range of exciting podcast-related projects. You will help our team out with a variety of tasks across the business including supporting advertising campaigns, pulling together reports for clients and writing copy for our website and clients.

This is an entry level position ideal for a recent graduate with experience in student media or a non-graduate with some experience in podcasting, content creation or community media.

This role may start early in the day at 8am, finishing early at 4.30pm.

Key Skills
  • You will have an understanding of the media industry, particularly podcasting. This means you’ll have a good idea of which shows are most relevant across a variety of genres, understand how podcasts are made and have an awareness of the UK’s biggest production companies. In short, you need to know your Audible from your Audio Always.
  • You’ll be creative and be able to produce bright ideas that solve tricky problems and get clients excited.
  • You’ll be highly organised, keep track of tasks and meet deadlines
  • You will be a quick learner who is capable of turning your hand to a variety of tasks you may not have taken on before. You need to be able to embrace new experiences and be excited to learn.
  • You’ll love podcasts and talk passionately about your favourite shows.
Additional skills
  • …some knowledge of the way digital advertising works – whether display, through podcasts or in YouTube and digital video
  • …writing experience – whether that’s articles, reviewing content, reporting from events, interviewing creatives
  • …some data analysis experience. Perhaps sorting and analysing data, competence in Google Sheets or Excel
  • … some creative experience. Can you edit in Photoshop, Premier or Audition? Have you used WordPress?
  • Full Private Medical and Dental Insurance
  • Remote working with fortnightly all-team meet-ups in London
  • An annual salary of £26,000
