Mission

The main focus for the Production Engineer will be supporting the handover of new development products from R&D to the production department. Provide support to production technicians during build and repair of products on the production line. This will include producing/updating work instructions / drawings and associated documentation. Carry our any relevant redesign work as required.

It will require the comprehension of technical drawings and associated documentation, company and industry and/or military standards in order that delivered products meet with these specifications. Initially under supervision but with time taking increasing responsibility and ownership for tasks leading to the completion of test and production duties required as demand dictates.

As a Production Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Problem solving of issues as they arise during production of acoustic products.

Proactively logging, tracking and closure of engineering improvement notices and change notices in a timely manner.

Assist design team with product development, prototype build as required within the role holders skill set.

Assist design team in producing all manufacturing drawings, Bills of Material, Work Instructions. Quality control instructions prior to handover to Production.

Keeping engineers and project managers informed on progression of tasks.

Responsibility for keeping accurate records including of faults, repairs and test results.

Education

B.Sc or B.Eng in either Electronic or Mechanical Engineering with previous relevant experience within an engineering environment. Or demonstratable equivalent experience.

Skills

Have a good hands-on practical capability.

Detailed knowledge and use of AutoCad.

Process development, including creation of process documentation.

Product design for manufacturability and assembly.

Problem solving – identifying and suggesting solutions to problems encountered.

Observant with attention to detail.

Knowledge of both electronic and mechanical processes.

Ability to work in team and independently.

Able to plan, prioritise and handle multiple tasks.
