Reporting to: Senior Product Manager
The Role
We are on a mission to give everyone the belief that they can make their move. You will work in the Search Team, ensuring the consumer experience around search results and property listing pages remains world‑class. You’ll own the product lifecycle, from strategy and discovery to backlog ownership and delivery, collaborating with designers, researchers, engineers and stakeholders across the business.
A typical week as a Product Manager might involve:
- Managing ownership and monitoring of the products and functionality owned by the team through the objectives and KPIs you define
- Creating and validating business cases that underpin product/initiative, with clear definition of opportunity, costs and benefit
- Proactively contributing to initiatives that aim to improve our customer or consumer experience, both identifying your own contribution and supporting others
- Initiating or undertaking any analysis to highlight impacts to systems or business processes
- Leading the experience discovery of initiatives and products with Product Designers and Researchers to define the approach
- Collaborating with user experience specialists and visual designers to re‑work existing experiences and create new ones
- Understanding what motivates our customers and keeping up to date with industry insights
- Generating unique ideas, identifying opportunities and encouraging innovation within the team
- Working with engineers and technical architects to understand technology limitations, recommendations and development options
- Being accountable for requirements definition and delivery of solutions across your product/initiatives
- Maintaining a backlog of improvements, clearly describing how they support overall business goals and working with the Senior Product Manager & Head of Product to prioritise these alongside wider domain priorities
- Shaping the strategic direction, vision and objectives for Search based on clear rationale, analysis and insights with Senior Product Manager & the Head of Product
We are looking for someone who:
- Can lead product discovery, culminating in clear recommendations and the best delivery approaches
- Has experience delivering successful end‑to‑end delivery of software products in a technology‑led company
- Takes responsibility for a product and delivers it with an autonomous delivery team
- Is passionate about delivering quality experience and software to end users
- Has excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to multitask and make tough calls
- Effectively manages relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment on product goals
- Sets and measures clear, realistic and timely goals
- Builds a deep understanding of how an organisation is run, both commercially and operationally
- Actively encourages contributions from all around them, recognising the value of team members' input when solving problems
- Thinks long term and drives the vision for the product their team is working on
- Has found the agile philosophy to be second nature
- Is comfortable describing the technical implementation of their product
- Desires to learn and improve themselves and the processes within the team
- Joins a team where they can negotiate the roadmap with product leaders, present to senior leaders or discuss implementation with engineers
