A local government authority in the United Kingdom is seeking a Highways Development Manager to oversee highway development management. This role involves shaping transport infrastructure, influencing policy, and representing the council in planning meetings. As Highways Development Manager, you will join a team within the Infrastructure Service, playing a part in the delivery of efficient and cost-effective highway development management across Cheshire East. You’ll play an important role in shaping the borough’s transport infrastructure by developing responses to planning applications, negotiating developer contributions, and recommending appropriate highway mitigation works. This position involves influencing policy, guiding major developments, and representing the council as highway authority in planning committee meetings, all while ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and community needs.
