Job description

The Pre-Sales Consultant plays a critical role in driving the success of the sales team by providing technical expertise, solutions consulting, and strategic guidance during the sales process.

This individual will work closely with Business Development Managers and potential clients to understand their specific business needs and demonstrate how our products or services can provide value. The role requires a balance of technical knowledge, communication skills, and a strong ability to build relationships, with the ultimate goal of closing high-value sales.


The Pre-Sales Specialist will be responsible for presenting solutions to clients, conducting product demos, responding to RFPs (Request for Proposals), and leading technical discussions with prospects. You will be expected to be the key link between the sales and technical teams, ensuring that all client requirements are translated effectively into technical solutions.

Solution Consultation and Pre-Sales Support

· Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer requirements, pain points, and objectives.

· Provide in-depth technical consultation to clients to help identify the right solutions to meet their business needs.

· Conduct product demos, presentations, and workshops tailored to specific customer requirements.

· Offer guidance on best practices, technical features, and value propositions of the company's solutions.

Proposal Development and RFP Management

· Support the sales team in the preparation and submission of RFPs and RFIs (Request for Information).

· Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., product development, engineering, and marketing teams) to create tailored proposals and solution architectures.

· Ensure that all pre-sales documentation, proposals, and demonstrations align with the client’s needs and company goals.

Product Demonstrations and Presentations

· Deliver highly engaging and persuasive product demonstrations to prospective customers.

· Tailor presentations and demo content to address specific customer pain points and objectives.

· Respond to detailed technical questions, articulating how our solutions can solve the client’s business challenges.

Skillset Required (or demonstration of similar skills that can be transferred):

· A minimum of three years’ experience in a pre-sales role

· Understanding of effective business solution delivery using the Microsoft BI toolset

o Essential: Data Bricks or Delta Lake

o Power BI

o SSAS

o SSIS

o SSRS

· Communication skills - You can listen to the needs of technical and business stakeholders and interpret them. You know how to manage stakeholder expectations. You are flexible and capable of proactive and reactive communication. You know how to facilitate difficult discussions within the team or with diverse senior stakeholders.

· Data development process - You know how to establish enterprise-scale data integration procedures across the data development life cycle and ensure that teams adhere to these.

· Technical understanding (data engineering) - You have the detailed knowledge and understanding of the technical concepts required for the role. You know how these fit into the wider technical landscape.

· Evaluate data management architectural options in terms of cost, benefits, risk and systems fit in order to provide recommendations. Required essential experience skills and qualifications

· Highly technical and analytical, possessing 5 or more years of Database and/or Analytics Systems development and deployment experience, IT systems and engineering experience, security and compliance experience, etc.

· Possess significant experience of software development and/or IT and implementation/consulting experience.

· Knowledge of Machine Learning Technologies

· Knowledge of Microsoft’s Azure Platform

· Experience of data migration techniques and process planning.

· Broad IT knowledge and experience within a range of project types, size and complexity.
