Job description

This is a great opportunity to join our growing Boots business in our Oxford Cowley Road store as a Pharmacist!

As part of our pharmacy team, you’ll be supported by experienced Pharmacy Technicians with checking capability, Pharmacy Advisors, a strong retail management team, a dedicated Area Manager, and Director of Stores.

We’re proud to offer the opportunity to complete your Independent Prescriber (IP) qualification – fully funded by Boots.

Both experienced and newly qualified pharmacists are welcome to apply.

This is a permanent, 40-hour position, including some weekends.

About the role

As a Pharmacist, you’ll provide excellent customer and patient care, offering expert advice and reassurance beyond just dispensing medicines. Your responsibilities include:

  1. Delivering the pharmacy strategy through expert care and advice
  2. Making legal and ethical decisions in the pharmacy
  3. Building the pharmacy capability of store teams
  4. Reviewing operations through audits, observations, and risk assessments to ensure safety
  5. Providing a range of professional pharmacy services
What you’ll need to have

To succeed, you should have a professional, caring character and a genuine desire to improve. Additionally:

  • You must be registered with the relevant pharmacy regulator (GPhC, PSNI, PSI)
  • You should demonstrate high professional expertise and respect from stakeholders, peers, patients, and external professionals
  • Passion for community pharmacy and providing excellent care
  • A collaborative, team-centered approach
  • Excellent knowledge of pharmacy operations and local/national services
  • Effective communication skills to meet varied customer and patient needs
