Job description

The Growth Company's (GC) Employment team is recruiting a Peer Mentor to support individuals facing substance misuse challenges. This role is designed for someone with lived experience of substance use and recovery, who can use their personal journey to inspire, guide, and empower others.

In this role, you'll deliver tailored advice, guidance, and training, while coordinating referrals and maintaining strong links with Jobcentre Plus, treatment centres and other agencies. You'll play a vital part in helping individuals build motivation, confidence, and self-esteem, and assist their transition into or out of treatment, education, training, or employment.

Please note that this is a fixed term role until 30th June 2026.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver personalised interventions to individuals in recovery, both face-to-face and online, supporting their progression into treatment, training, education, or employment.
  • Conduct thorough inductions and assessments to identify personal and learning needs, creating tailored action plans.
  • Facilitate group sessions and workshops that build confidence, motivation, and employability skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress, ensuring timely updates in client systems.
  • Build strong, supportive relationships and liaise with partner organisations such as Jobcentre Plus and local treatment providers.
  • Promote services through networking and partnership engagement, contributing to service development and continuous improvement.
