Base pay range

Paying in the region of £50,000 - £70,000 per annum. Initial 12-month contract with the expectation to be extended or to be made permanent.

Overview

G MASS Consulting are supporting a leading financial services firm as they build out a new payments function and acquire a payments license. Our client require a dedicated Transformations Lead to help drive successful delivery. This is a great opportunity to join at the early stages of a major build-out, working closely with senior stakeholders to help structure, track and drive progress across a complex, fast-moving programme.

Responsibilities
  • Support day-to-day delivery across the payments programme, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and regulatory timelines.
  • Lead regular project meetings and working groups, driving agenda, actions, and follow-ups to ensure accountability.
  • Manage changes to scope, timelines and resources through a controlled change management process.
  • Maintain programme plans, milestones, RAID logs, and governance documents to ensure accuracy and control.
  • Coordinate across multiple departments to manage dependencies and drive cohesive delivery.
  • Track progress against regulatory and operational milestones, highlighting risks and resolving issues through governance channels.
  • Identify and escalate delivery risks early, supporting mitigation planning to maintain momentum and stability.
  • Provide clear, insight-driven reporting to senior stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making and effective oversight.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, ensuring tasks, owners and deadlines are clearly defined and tracked.
  • Ensure delivery aligns with agreed methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall or hybrid), adapting approaches as appropriate.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels, promoting transparency, engagement and shared ownership of outcomes.
Requirements
  • Change/Transformations experience is essential for this role - Project Management, PMO, Transformation, Projects
  • Experience within institutional payments is essential - ideally including cross-border payments or payment processing.
  • Knowledge of payments regulations (e.g. PSD2, FCA, EMI licensing) is a strong advantage.
  • Highly organised, proactive and ambitious, with a delivery-focused mindset.
  • Confident working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
