Job Details

Patient Services Rep/Phlebotomist (MAKO KY) – Mako Medical

Responsibilities
  • Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, blood samples, and pathology and cytology samples.
  • Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems or service directory.
  • Complete all data entry requirements accurately, including patient registration and test orders from requisitions.
  • Enter billing information and collect payments when required, safeguarding assets and credit card information.
  • Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing as required by test orders.
  • Use iLabs for assigned accounts daily to ensure accurate data is provided for billing purposes.
  • Provide necessary CIR and PPE Resolution reporting to the Director as required on schedule.
  • Perform departmental clerical duties such as data entry, inventory, stock supplies, and phone answering when needed.
  • Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures, ensuring all staff follow instructions.
  • Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signature post-venipuncture to confirm tube labeling accuracy.
  • Assist with compilation and submission of monthly statistics and data.
  • Maintain phlebotomy logs in a timely manner, including maintenance logs and temperature logs.
  • Complete training courses and keep up-to-date with the latest phlebotomy techniques.
  • Travel to Territory Manager meetings if held off-site or outside normal shift.
  • Participate in special projects and teams.
  • Stay up-to-date on company communications.
Requirements
  • Provide quality, error‑free work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Work independently with minimal on‑site supervision.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric.
  • Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which may include weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime.

  • Have reliable transportation, a valid driver license, and a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements
  • Lift light to moderately heavy objects (1–15 lbs frequently; 16–25 lbs occasionally; 26–40 lbs seldom; >41 lbs without assistance).
  • Sit or stand for long periods; require long hours of eye and hand coordination.
  • Perform repetitive tasks with dominant hand frequently throughout the day.
  • Position requires travel.
  • Extensive use of phone and PC.
  • Fine dexterity with hands and steadiness.
  • Bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching, twisting.
Required Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience
  • One year phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Customer service in a retail or service environment preferred.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
